Art Center Car Classic Oct 23 2016: Built by Hand
Pasadena CA, Oct 19 2016 - ArtCenter College of Design proudly hosts their annual Car Classic to showcase the College’s strong ties to the industry and honor many noteworthy alumni. More than just another high-profile car show, this popular public event celebrates the very best in transportation design.
This year, get an up-close-and-personal look at a carefully curated selection of rare and unique coach built classics, hot rods, custom cars and futuristic concepts.
Highlights include:
1934 VOISIN C27 AÉROSPORT - Gabriel Voisin developed automobiles with the mindset of an aeronautical engineer. Many design features follow aircraft construction practice.

1936 STOUT SCARAB - Designed by an aeronautical engineer, its radical streamlined “turtle shell” form anticipated the minivan by several decades. Less than 10 were built.

1957 ALFA ROMEO GIULIETTA SPRINT SPECIALE - Franco Scaglione’s first production design following his 1954–56 Alfa Romeo BAT series, this prototype Giulietta SS debuted at the 1957 Turin Motor Show.
