Auctions America: Trading Horses

Burbank CA, Jul 31-Aug 2 2014 - Automobile auctions are a lot of things to a lot of people. Big ticket items going up for sale provoke emotions for both buyers and sellers, and there are many variables in play to make or break one’s day. It takes a great deal of effort from the seller to transport, clean and prepare the car; the auction house works for months to line up cars and humans with cash to match up to the cars. Buyers get an easy ride up until they have to write a check.

Auctions America returned to Burbank in 2014 for the second summer with over 500 classic motor craft, drawing an amazing variety and cross section of collectables. Burbank is one of the hometowns of custom car building – providing for an easy place to get in and out, as well as an educated crowd. The city is also home to NBC and Jay Leno, so naturally they tag team on the headline.

Ed the Car Guy – Ed Levitt lives here too. He brought one of his nearly perfect cars to see if the time was right to sell – “Vivian” is his family’s very original 1968 Mustang. With 68,713 miles, nice options and complete documentation since new, the car is a proven entity – no guessing or faking required.

An auction veteran, Ed knows that anything can happen and it depends on timing and circumstance. Auctions America positioned his car second last in order on the three day auction; a marque car to try to keep the crowd in their seats. Ed provides a real world commentary on the proceedings and process. Will the right people be in the seats with the right money?
