I'm not sure if this is the latest in passive-aggressive marketing or simply the lamest come-on ever. But I wanted to extend a personal invitation to you to attend a book signing featuring co-author Matt Stone and moi at Autobooks in Burbank this Saturday to mark the publication of our latest tome modestly entitled: Automotive Mysteries, Myths and Rumors Revealed. For the record, Matt and I didn't come up with the title. But for better or worse, we wrote the book.

Before MapQuesting Autobooks and heading to Burbank, I ought to mention a few caveats. There won't be any food or wine or, frankly, any other objectively good reason to come. But if nobody shows up, then Matt and I will have nothing to do but stare glumly at each other for four hours, and you don't want that on your conscience, do you? Seriously, I'm not expecting you to drop everything (or anything, for that matter) and schlep all the way to Burbank on a sunny Saturday morning/afternoon.

But if you happen to be in the area, or can't think of anything else to do, or are simply desperate for somebody to talk to, Matt and I will be at Autobooks-Aerobooks from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on December 15, and we'd love to see you there. Freeway close! Free parking! Within walking distance of Porto's! What's not to like?
