NASCAR Results at Irwindale Speedway Apr 6

Irwindale CA Apr 7 2013 - Really RE-Opening night for the highly respected half-mile oval track that went dark for the 2012 NASCAR season when the former operators abruptly filed for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in early February of last year.

A near-capacity crowd was treated to a full night of great NASCAR short track racing that ran the gamut from the scrappy Mini-Stocks to the superfast Super Late Models.

"We were all very gratified by the great turn out last night," said Jim Cohan, the track's new President/CEO. "We knew that the drivers and the fans were out there, and we heard from both sides of the pit gates loud and clear. They all just could not wait for NASCAR racing to return to Irwindale. It was a party, a reunion, a family gathering ... something that we could all feel ... and it felt very good!"

The above is the good news: great racing, great fans, great action, a wonderful on-track autograph session, and great food from the incredible array of food vendors that are almost as important part of the experience as the racing cars ... But the even better news is that there are fourteen more nights of the same set for the 2013 championship season!

"Our team got this track back on its wheels ... and our drivers, crews, and sponsors gave Irwindale Speedway back to the fans last night," Cohan concluded.
