Pebble Beach Concours 2019: Judging By the Looks of Things
Pebble Beach CA, August 18 2019 - Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is pretty well known as the peak of pinnacle American automobile events - a place where only the best of the best get a chance to appear on the prestigious windy seaside perch.
Chief Class Judge Matt Stone distills decades of study and first class experience to focus on the incredible level of detail that goes into fielding and judging an automobile here at Pebble Beach (see video above).

Upon invitation, the annual crop of vehicles goes through a presentation process that requires an enormous commitment and effort (time and money). It takes a collective love and extreme passion for the craft of automotive preservation and restoration to build a cottage industry out of this one Sunday on a golf green.
If the chosen automobile was not already in fairly perfect or original condition, there is a strong incentive to come as close as possible to that level of achievement. For the car-takers, If you are going to be judged in front of your peers you had better put your best feet forward - so they do.
It takes little work for host Matt Stone to draw out the passion and love for automobiles and drive to make the best of everything, as he is the quintessential car guy to start with. Matt is expertly qualified to spell out and walk through the judging process from the 100 point checklist to handing over his own personal "Best-of-Show" ballot for the count.
